Why receive spiritual direction?

To discern God’s invitations: not just “What should I do?” but “Where is God leading me, and what’s getting in the way?”

To grow in prayer (without getting stuck): direction helps you move from “I’m trying” to a steady, honest relationship with God.

To make sense of interior movements: consolations, dryness, anxieties, distractions, desires what’s from God, what’s from wounds, what’s from temptation, what’s just human?

To heal patterns that keep repeating: people often discover the same fear, perfectionism, people-pleasing, scrupulosity, control, or resentment is quietly running the show.

To integrate faith with daily life: work decisions, relationships, boundaries, parenting, leadership, suffering direction brings God into the actual terrain of life.

To strengthen spiritual resilience: when trials hit, you’re less likely to spiral, isolate, or make reactive choices.

Why it’s important?

It creates accountability to grace. Not performance accountability—spiritual honesty: “What am I really choosing? What am I avoiding?”

It protects against extremes. Especially helpful for scrupulosity, burnout, spiritual pride, or discouragement direction can keep you balanced.

It accelerates growth.Like having a map and a guide: the path is still yours to walk, but you waste less time in confusion.
