"I have seen how deeply and personally Jacqueline Loh and Bishop Gilmore care about the people they encounter, and I feel blessed to be able to work with them to help bring opportunities for others to experience the same."
Katy Ann Somes was born and raised in Kansas. She graduated from Newman University in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in Spanish, and loved the time she spent as an elder companion/caretaker and nanny while living near Wichita. She is currently living in the mountains of Colorado, and enjoys working on the ranch where she is staying, and being involved in the local parish churches.
She loves spending time with Jesus, family, and friends, praying (especially with others), and sharing her love for Jesus, our Mama Mary, and St. Joseph with others, as well as music, nature, and hiking in the mountains.
She is excited and grateful to be working with Grace that Reigns, especially after having personally experienced the renewing and healing Grace of God through the Grace that Reigns ministry, and the kindness, compassion, and friendship of Jacqueline and Bishop Gilmore. Katy first met Bishop Gilmore when, as the Bishop of the Diocese of Dodge City, he confirmed her at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Olmitz, KS. Many years later, she met Jacqueline at a retreat she was giving with Bishop Gilmore. In the time since then, after they kept in contact with her and she received continual support from them, she has seen how deeply and personally they care about the people they encounter, and feels blessed to be able to work with them to help bring opportunities for others to experience the same.
Favorite season: Winter! She loves cold and snowy weather.
Favorite drink: Herbal teas - most of them.
Favorite prayers: Aside, of course, from the beautiful and powerful "staples" (Mass, Rosaries, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and the Memorare and Magnificat prayers), the Surrender Novena and Jesus' Unity Prayer (from the Flame of Love) are her favorite go-tos.
Favorite book: She has too many favorites, but one book she wouldn't want to be without (along with the Bible) is The Hours of the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ by Luisa Piccarreta.
